Children love to write Santa letters around Christmas time, and this can be turned into a great family centered activity. Christmas is all about spending time as a family and children love Santa letters, so why not combine the two. With a craft box, paper, pens and some Christmas spirit this can be a new family tradition.
A craft box is something that every home with children should have. The box can include anything from fun markers, paints, and crayons to beads and pipe cleaners. If you don?t have a craft/art box at your home, now is a good time to start one. This should be personalized to your needs and the needs of your family. When buying the products, think of your Santa letters project. Be sure to pick up Christmas themed supplies which can include the North Pole, Rudolph, Santa, reindeer and other Christmas themes. These supplies can include stickers, glitter, paper and green and red markers or pens.
Once you have your box ready, setting a date for the Santa letters project is the next step. Pick an evening when the whole family can get together during the most wonderful time of the year. Be sure to have enough paper for everyone to write their own Santa letters. The adults should be involved in this activity as well, to help the children feel confident in their belief for Santa Claus.
Begin by telling the children they should tell Santa Claus the good things have have done that year, not only the presents they want. You should also have them talk about things they are grateful for. This will help them think about what they have, and not just what they want. This might be a struggle for the older children, but giving them some ideas can be a great way to get them started.
Make sure to use your fun new craft supplies in writing the Santa letters. They can be decorated with glitter, stickers, and other fun Christmas decorations that are found at the craft supply store. The children will love to write their Santa Letters, and maybe a letter or two to say Merry Christmas to friends and loved ones as well. Instead of making one generic letter to send to your loved ones, you can have your family and children help you write and decorate letters to the loved ones on your list. This can be a fun activity for the children, as well as an exciting time for those who are opening their letters.
Once the letters are done, have the children decorate the envelopes and address them to Santa Claus House, North Pole. They can be put in the mailbox, or given to a parent and they can figure out what to do after that. Another fun activity to do (with out the children, of course) is to write letters back from Santa Claus. Your children will love seeing their name on an envelope and will be ecstatic when they see where it is from, Santa Claus in the North Pole. In the letter you can tell them all about the reindeer, especially Rudolph and Santa Claus house, as well as all about the workshop North Pole. Santa letters, both to and from Santa Claus are a great way to bring the family together. Youngsters Love Writing Santa Letters
