Sustainable development is a necessity, at all levels

Where does the word "sustainability" come from? It came from the forestry sector, where it meant that we were not damaged or affected, more trees than the number is growing. This meant that the rate of hacking should always be below the growth rate. Then in the nineties nineteen, came the term "sustainable development". This term is recognized throughout the world and has been high, so that it is now commonly referred to as SD. His concepts were born in the report "Our CommonFuture "(1987) World Commission on Environment and Development (" Brundtland Commission ") was. His original concept of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro (UNCED), expanded in 1992 to cover the development and environment policy .

Following the agreement of Agenda 21 in 1992, a commission from the ONE to the ideals of the SD at all levels, both at international, national or even local application. What has this very compatible withall areas of life was its universal appeal, the general improvement of basic living conditions, people with equal opportunities. It aims to create the current generation with all their needs, while ensuring and securing resources for the future ..

So one of its fundamental principles is the correct version of the distribution problem. The distribution must be done to meet the present day, save for the future, but also the support of hismarginal and oppressed sections of society.

The Wuppertal Institute formulated a graphic called "prism of sustainable development." It is a prism with its four corners, representing the four worlds, the major social institutions, ecological, economic and social dimensions. The sides of the prism showing the different ways in which they are connected to each of these four worlds. It is is a connection between all nodes of the prism.

Thewhole concept of SD is not just a change in the general level, but a change of meaning. The development concept is a rule in place of growth and of greater importance to qualitative growth, basis is mandatory.

This development includes not only an increase in income, but primarily an increase in growth factors. Then the quality of life and improvement in living standards are the basis of generally accepted standards, such as "'humanDevelopment Index "and the concept of prosperity, the World Bank.

SD tries to raise awareness of the growing scarcity of resources and the fear of non-renewable resources threatened with extinction. This is particularly in industrialized countries pockets where the population is dense and the consumption of resources is done enormous. It encourages people to limit their consumption and look out for other renewable energy sources. This is important to prevent ecological collapse.

Today, otherEnvironmental groups are still raising questions that the concept of SD is usually politically motivated and ecological reforms and tasks are more often than not economically motivated.
