ANNE (LENFEST) THIBODEAU ? Bangor Daily News

BANGOR ? Anne (Lenfest) Thibodeau, daughter of Floyd Lenfest and Viola (Smith) Lenfest, has left this world, Oct. 6, 2011, after a courageous two-year battle with a rare cancer. Anne was born in December of 1932, and lived in Maine her entire life.

She attended Bangor area public schools, and was married at the age of 18 to the love of her life, William "Bill" Thibodeau. Anne had three children, and spent most of her time as a stay at home Mom caring for her family. She worked a number of years in the family insurance business in downtown Bangor. Anne was known by all as a very gentle and kind-hearted soul who was always available to listen and provide support. She was a true best friend to everyone, and was regarded by all as an angel on earth. She was an avid gardener and had extensive flowerbeds, which gave her great enjoyment. During her annual yard sale many would comment on the beauty of her gardens. She also had a passion for antiques and had numerous collections including dolls, dishware and many other knickknacks. She loved her jewelry and could never pass a jewelry store without at least stopping to window shop. She enjoyed her weekly bridge club and will undoubtedly miss Jeanette, Maddie and Opal ? she greatly appreciated the bridge games and friendship she had with each of them. She also enjoyed getting together with "the gang" for some competitive and spirited card games. The family offers many thanks for the support, love and good times shared over a wonderful life to: Olie and Charlene Frati, Leith and Donna Wadleigh, Stan and Judie Miller, and many other wonderful supportive friends. Anne was known to have a great dry sense of humor, and maintained her humor even in the difficult last days. She looked forward to trips to Jordon Pond House in the summer with her daughter, where she greatly enjoyed the popovers and views of the island. She worked on the island not far from Jordan Pond House one summer in her youth. She also loved a great convertible ride on a sunny day and could be seen in recent summers doing just that wearing her pink flamingo baseball cap.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bill Thibodeau; a son, Bill Thibodeau and his wife, Marcia, of Richmond, Va.; a son, Cliff Thibodeau and his wife, Laurie, of Melbourne, Fla.; a daughter, Laura Thibodeau of Portland; grandchildren, Angela Domenichelli and Renee Jewett; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Daniella Domenichelli, and Kira Jewett; and a cousin, Helen Hardy. Anne will be greatly missed, although we know it?s only temporary and someday we will all be together again. One of her friends said it best for us all when saying goodbye to Anne for the last time: "She was one of the most wonderful people I?ve ever met. Everyone loved her."

At Anne?s request, there will be no service.
